OCCI welcomes the Small Business Development Corporation to Onslow

 

It was a pleasure to host the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) Board and Executive team in Onslow on Friday 17 October 2025!

 

As WA’s lead agency supporting small businesses, the visit was a valuable opportunity to connect with local industry and better understand the unique challenges and opportunities faced by SMEs in our region. The group toured key sites including OMSB, Chevron and Mineral Resources, gaining firsthand insight into the infrastructure and investment driving economic diversification in Onslow. These visits sparked important conversations around collaboration with local suppliers and how government can better support small businesses in remote, resource-rich communities.

 

We were also thrilled to welcome Daiva Gillam, the newly appointed CEO of Regional Development Australia - Pilbara, on her first visit to Onslow. Having Daiva join the SBDC team added great value to the discussions and helped showcase the exciting potential of our region.
